Herpes is spread through skin to skin contact, so anything is possible down there…that is why condoms don’t protect you from Herpes. If you have never had an outbreak, I doubt you have Herpes. Maybe her boyfriend gave it to her. Herpes can show up quickly…or not. It depends on your own personal immune system. After six to eight days, on average, signs and symptoms of genital herpes can appear. This period between herpes transmission and the start of genital herpes symptoms is called the “incubation period for genital herpes.” In some cases, the incubation period can be as short as one day or as long as 26 days.

Herpes usually takes about 1-3 weeks to show symptoms after being exposed or infected but you should know you can be exposed to herpes and not get it. It’s not common but some times herpes can lie dormant for long periods of time after you get infected or you could carry herpes with out showing signs or symptoms. But if you haven’t had any signs or symptoms by now chances are you’re probably fine.
You can also get herpes even if you use condoms because they don’t protect all areas of the genitals that herpes can affect. If she had a break out when you had sex then you still have a chance of contracting herpes. If she didn’t have a break out then you would only have a small chance of getting it.
You can always have a blood test done by your doctor to clear things up.
